Interdisciplinary Integration of Technology into Core Subjects Utilizing the Digital Tools Certification

Volusia County Schools, through the Digital Classroom Plan, utilized an interdisciplinary and multi-departmental project approach to begin integrating technology into sixth grade core subject areas. Employing Science, ELA and Career & Technical Education curriculum areas with the Technology Services, Instructional Management and Learning Technologies departments, a district team of specialists trained over one hundred sixth grade level teachers on how to infuse technology into their curriculum, and recognize student's digital skills through the tools certificate attainment.
